ELEVEN STEPS TO SANITY

Practice these activities to ease your hurry sickness

 Speak more slowly and employ a pleasant tone in your voice.

 Eat more slowly and linger at the table.  Intentionally engage people in conversation about their spiritual life at the table.

 Walk more slowly.  Focus on your breathing as you walk.

 Do not wear your watch for the day.

 Do not drive in the fast lane.  Smile and wave at people who pass you and/or cut you off.

Seek out the longest line to wait in.  Recall fond memories, observe other people while you wait and pray for them.

 Listen to music in solitude and do nothing else for 15 minutes.

 Notice the colors and shapes of trees and flowers.  Silently rejoice in your Creator.

 Before adding a new activity, subtract an old one.

Pay attention to how often you check the time.  Try to reduce time checks to a minimum.

 Take at least 30 minutes to look through old photo albums and recall pleasant memories.  Thank God for both the joy and the pain of your past.
